PTI SAF 2015 - Threads Challenge

5-threads-challenge

I have fallen behind but I am not going to give up.  Challenge 3 is the threads challenge.  I have never done the Thread Nests before but I have had the silver and gold thread for forever so now is the time to use it.

This card is going to either my dad or my father-in-law but I don't know yet.
The supplies are:  PTI Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky and Enchanted Evening ink, White and Spring Rain cardstock, Cover Plate: Stripes Diagonal Die, and Wonderful Words: Birthday die.  I also used a Simon Says Stamp set called All Boy for the Boy sentiment which was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black ink and yes, my MISTI.  The thread is Gold Coats & Clark that I purchased at Walmart.
I hope to get back and do one using twine and one of Danielle's inspirations too but we shall see if I have time tomorrow.  Again, thanks for looking and don't forget participants would love to have some nice comments to read.  I know I am putting a lot of effort in looking and commenting this year.  Have fun everyone!

PTI SAF 2015 - Patterns Challenge

Challenge #2 is the:

 4-patterns-challenge
For this challenge we are to use a provided pattern, sometimes called a sketch, to design our card.  After looking at all of the design teams projects and again flipping through my catalog of supplies I chose the following pattern from Laurie Willson and produced the following card.
Laurie

I used the following PTI products:  Stamper Select White Cardstock, Thank You Kindly stamp set (I don't have the dies so I fussy cut), Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Winter Wisteria, Plum Pudding inks.
I used a Simon Says Stamps Frame Die to emboss the rectangle instead of using another piece of paper.  The sentiment is stamped in Versafine Black Onyx ink and by using my MISTI I was able to stamp it crisp and clean.  I also utilized the MISTI to double stamp each flag, once with the lighter color, then inked it up with the darker color, used a baby wipe to wipe away some excess then stamped again.  The MISTI is amazing for double stamping...if you don't have it and want better stamping results buy it!!
I am keeping up and so excited.

PTI SAF 2015 - Bridal Challenge

Over at Papertrey Ink they have an annual event called Stamp-a-faire (SAF) and it is a wonderful themed weekend full of challenges, community, inspiration and do not forget the prizes.  If you would like to play along check it out here.  I was determine to post as I go along this year and I am on track so far.
The first challenge is:
3-bridal-challenge
Create your own wedding project utilizing nothing but the color white.  You are allowed to use a neutral ink color (black, gray, brown, etc) for the sentiment.  Below are the pictures of my project.  Boy is it hard to photograph white...who am I kidding...I have a hard time photographing anything.

I looked through my catalog of products that I own and the Botanical Blocks just called to me to stamp on vellum with white embossing powder.  I knew I wanted the rest to stay fairly clean and simple so I used my MS Scoreboard to score three simple lines down the side and then some simple white ribbon to tie on the tag.  The sentiment is stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink.
All supplies include:  PTI Stamper Select White Cardstock, Botanical Blocks I & II, Versamark, Versafine, Tombow stamp runner adhesive, misc sheer white ribbon, paper cutter, MS scoreboard, hole punch, vellum, Hero Arts tag die and the wonderful MISTI tool.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
