Stuck on U Sketches - January 3rd Sketch
I am doing good this year so far - I don't make resolutions exactly but I do set goals for myself and so far I am thrilled that I am keeping up with my goals. Here it is the 12th of January and I am posting my second blog post for the year and will be posting three more posts after this all before the end of the day today. Crazy for me but very exciting!!
Some of my goals related to crafting for 2014 are: do more scrapbooking, use supplies I already own, complete challenges instead of just looking at them and moving on and post more on my blog. Another goal that will tie in with my crafting (mainly scrapbooking) is to take more pictures. I remember the camera when I go to family events, etc, but I never remember to use it. Hence taking more pictures will turn into more scrapbooking pages.
Ok, enough rambling. I saw the following sketch posted over at Stuck on U Sketches on January 3rd and got inspired to working on the stack of photographs my sister has given me of my nieces (her girls). Here is the sketch:
The picture I used is from 2012 and is from July 4th while out preparing to watch the local firework display.
The paper is all DCWV that I have on hand...various stacks. The stripe and stars is from a christmas stack from a few years ago, the solid blue and the blue pattern is from one of their ultimate stacks and the Independence Day was cut on my Cricut using the Graphically Speaking cartridge with some while glitter DCWV cardstock. The red rhinestones are from my stash. It has been forever since I got out my Cricut to work on a project for myself - I have used it for things for others but not myself. Thanks for looking and I am so excited to have one scrapbook page down for this year (even though the photo is from 2012 this still counts as a 2014 success).

Nice and simple. Beautiful interpretation of the sketch. I like that you made a circlular title. Thanks for playing along at SOUS.

Most darling photo!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great choice for this and really like
the papers and such and...that you weren't afraid of going
your own direction and scrapping what you wanted to! I think
too many get caught up in following challenges to a T and
you don't have to! Though of course an awesome job with the
sketch! Hope you'll think to come by more often and play
with us this year with your new goal! =) Plus seeing you used
your Cricut, we have Die Cut Challenges as well which are
great prompts for scrappy pages!
Hugs, Leah
