PTI January Blog Hop & Stenciled Day 1 project #1
So the January Papertrey Ink Blog Hop Challenge is Pretty in Pink and I used the inspiration from the Online Card Class that I am taking, Stenciled. I have hyperlinked both so you can go check them out for yourself. This is the first online card class I have taken and I am really enjoying it. They post videos in the morning and you can post your projects to the gallery. This class started yesterday (yes, Friday, while I was at work) and the last videos will be published on Monday (again, yes, while I am at work). Good news though is you have lifetime access to these videos. The gallery on the other hand is only open until 2/3/14 and they are giving away random prizes to students from the projects posted. No-brainer there to post projects!
Because the class is about using stencils, which I do own a collection of, I still decided to make another one. I took the Happy Hexagons cover plate from Papertrey Ink and ran it through my Cuttlebug with stencil material. Well that didn't work but it got close. I sat here for probably 30 minutes hand cutting along the oh so close to cut indentations and viola I have a stencil of my cover plate.
I am completely horrible at photography but that is indeed two shades of pink. The ink is Ranger Distress Ink by Tim Holtz in Victorian Velvet and Spun Sugar. The paper is PTI cardstock in White and Autumn Rose (matches great with the Victorian Velvet). The velum is from my stash and I have stamped on it with Happy Birthday from the Birthday Bash Sentiments also from PTI. I embellished with Darcie Iridescent Sequins and the bow is We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy floss in the color Princess.
Keeping up with my theme for this year of using things I own but have not yet used - I have never used the distress inks and the sequins. It feels so good to use items from your stash.
